The Turkey long lasting effects
Is it just me or is Thanksgiving’s turkey dinner still seem to be still making me sleepy? We attended two Christmas parties this weekend. We our our open house party this Friday, along with a wedding on Saturday and our Church family meeting next Sunday night. Usually Saturday nights have my wife and I doing last minute prep for Sunday. I’m also trying to do the “honey do list” and my ankle that has started to bother me again since spraining it last week, probably because I’ve been on my feet too much this week. I know when I’m tired when Jill comes up after the service and tells me I looked tired…
Well here is how God is so good. I preached today feeling exhausted, but two people accepted Christ, over fifteen people made public commitments to revisit their nativity and start dealing with stuff in their past to discover the future God has for them. God can take a tired messenger because the message isn’t asleep. It changes lives. Last night at our worship team party a young man came to me saying that he’s ready to be baptized and is ready to set the STC 06 river baptism record for coldest and latest in the year. That was as I was preparing to leave the party exhausted. I crashed when I got home while reading the Bible. I don’t know how my wife does it. She was able to energize people at the party, come home, practice music for today, clean some, preview one last time the morning slides, and finish her Bible study. Then she gets up at 5AM today, clean some more and does last minute prep for Sunday. I guess she didn’t eat as much turkey as I did.
Now we are going to set up the famil Christmas tree and sing carols around the fire and may a short nap after.
