For Pete Sake
Actually his name was David not Pete. He had just retrieved the Ark of the covenant. He’s danced it into town. God has told him he won’t be the one to build a temple for the Ark but will make his name great so people will know that God is great. David prays “O Lord, for the sake of your servant and according to yoru will, you have done this great thing” 1 Chron. 17:19.
Can you pray “for the sake of your servant” For my sake Lord bless me, for what I’ve done for you, bless me, for who I know bless me, for whom I have served bless me, for what I have thought bless me. The key is Phil. 2:12 God works in you to will and to act according to his good.” David knows the key is god’s will. If he is living, leading, loving in God’s will he can pray “for the sake of your servant…” For Pete sake, isn’t it about time you could say “For the sake of this servant according to your will, bless me.”
